Pressed Memories: Oshibana

The art of pressing flowers, has become a poignant reminder of the ephemeral nature of beauty. As I carefully arrange the delicate petals between sheets of absorbent paper, I’m struck by the contrast between the vibrant life they once held and the fragile stillness they now possess. Each pressed flower is a frozen moment in time, a testament to the fleeting nature of existence. The petals, once soft and supple, are now hardened and brittle, their colors fading with the passage of time. Yet, in their stillness, they hold a unique kind of beauty. They are distant memories, pressed into the pages of my mind. Some have faded with time, while others remain as vivid as ever.Oshibana has become a way for me to connect with the past and to cherish the memories I hold dear.

Each piece I create is a small tribute to the people and places that have shaped my life. I am filled with a sense of peace and gratitude. I am grateful for the time I have spent in nature, for the beauty I have witnessed, and for the people who have enriched my life.

Oshibana and Monsoon, they go hand in hand as they walk down the land of life.
